R.I.P….
In a school where most people are only nice to you if you can do something for them, Dimitri gave me more than just the time of day. He was a great friend to me, and he was always there with a kind heart. It was impossible to dislike him. He was always making jokes and when he wasn’t he was talking about crazy conspiracy theories or lizard people. He was the hardest worker I knew. Most kids sucked up to the teachers but D actually did the extra work. When teachers gave homework assignments he worked on it from day 1 and went above and beyond.
When it came time to apply for jobs we always talked about where to look and helped each other out since we were staying in the same area. He gave me some websites and I gave him some. It didn’t matter if we applied for the same job, we weren’t “competition” to each other. We were friends and it didn’t matter who got the job, we’d be happy for each other.
He was always smiling or winking or even gossiping. He was so easy to get along with. It didn’t matter what you were into or what your background was, or why you went to film school. D was there for you. He was your friend. You could complain to him about the classes you were taking or you could complain to him about your dog. He would listen and relate.
He loved his kid and girlfriend. He never stopped talking about either of them. Or to them. I can’t recall how many times I walked past his desk to see him chatting or skyping with his girlfriend. He shared pictures and told stories about them all the time.
The guy was all heart and the hardest worker I know. A genuinely amazing human being.
Sadly, this past Thursday, Dimitri was killed in a car accident. A motorcyle was speeding and crashed into his car, flipping the vehicle. They were both in the car when it flipped & both were pronounced dead on the scene.
Even worse, his girlfriend committed suicide today.
Please pray for them & their family.
Goodbye, D.
I miss you so much. I always will. You’ll be in my heart & prayers….
